The Nike x Mo’Wax by James Lavelle is a collection of reinterpreted Nike designs, and pays tribute to Lavelle's relationship with Nike and his rare talent for uniting eclectic and eccentric cultural and artistic influences. The collection revolves around the mantra 'Build and Destroy,' which encourages people to "make something and build it up, then move on to something new."

A famed DJ, recording artist and producer, Lavelle founded the Mo'Wax record label in 1992. The label quickly became a safe house for underground subcultures and counterculture-espousing music. The label's novelty led to collaborations beyond the music industry, which led to a partnership with Nike in 2004.
