These Nike High Tops are a Remake of the Classic Cortez Model
Charlotte Joyce Kidd — September 17, 2015 — Fashion
These Nike high tops are sure to excite fans of the classic Cortez sneaker, originally introduced by Nike in 1972.
The classic athletic shoe has been given a makeover just in time for fall, creating a pair of Nike high tops that are wearable year-round. The model is called the Cortez Chukka. The Nike high tops will come in its two original colorways: the classic red, white and blue immortalized by Tom Hanks in the movie Forrest Gump and a very simple black and white. Other than the addition of the high top element, the Nike Cortez Chukkas will retain all of the original features and detailing of the iconic sneaker.
There are some hardcore enthusiasts and life-long wearers of the Cortez who will be thrilled that with the launch of these Nike high tops -- they'll never have to put their favorite kicks away for the fall season.
