The NexusHaus is a futuristic eco-friendly home that is the result of a collaborative effort between the University of Texas at Austin and the Technische Universitat Munchen in Munich, Germany. This home will be one of the competitors at the US Solar Decathlon, which will be held in six months. This prototype home will run entirely on solar power and boasts high water efficiency.
The home will draw all of its energy resources from a roof-based solar array. As far as water efficiency is concerned, the home will feature an integrated gray water system that recycles used household water to water vegetables and greenery. Meanwhile, a canopy acts as a lightweight shade and rainwater catchment system.
