Binge-Watching Collectibles

Netflix is already a perfect platform for binge-watching, but the platform is looking to expand extend its reach to kids with a system that will offer Netflix collectible patches to children who watch certain shows. The system is still in its testing phase, but the experience would gamify kids TV viewing habits and could boost views on their large children's show collection. Some of the shows that include patches are Trolls, Fuller House and A Series of Unfortunate Events.

There have been no confirmed designs for the Netflix collectible patches, but the company has already begun tests. Netflix hopes that this system will introduce a more interactive element to the viewing experience and will give children something to talk about and share around the titles they love. The patches currently have no value and don't lead to any reward, but each patch does require a child to watch a particular show, with Netflix somehow taking note of past views.
