This natural amphitheater consists of "rippling mounds of grass." Located in Lijiang, China, and near the Linjiang Hilla Vintage Hotel complex, this work is by Beijing-based landscape studio Z'scape. The natural amphitheater is connected to the hotel by way of a beautiful winding wooden path. Titled 'The Wilderness Garden and Amphitheatre,' this landscape addition figures as an extension to the existing aesthetic. When building this project, the practice emphasized the importance of working with native plant varieties which is important for ecological stability and sustainability. In order to do this, Z'scape worked with a botanist and local villages.
