Helping you visualize your water usage, the MyWater display takes hidden information from your water meter and places it in your face. Conceived by designer Anthony Jakubiak, the water meter helps you conserve water by charting your usage rates and rating your efficiency.
MyWater is mounted at the point where you use your water so that you can constantly monitor your usage. With water-conservation a large problem in the United States, helping citizens save water will become increasingly important.
Beautiful water-usage displays haven't been possible before because of the encrypted channels that utility companies use to feed their data through. Currently Jakubiak is talking with metering companies to get access to the hidden data.
Jakubiak's eco-conscious project is currently an entry in this year's James Dyson Awards.
