MoDus Architects Builds a House for an Artist in Italy

MoDus Architects was presented with a challenge to create a house for an artist that was as distinct as the owner's work. The team pulled through and came up with a look that's not too over the top, yet still noteworthy.
The house consists of two diverging wooden forms, with the timber standing out too because of the light color used. Many of the surrounding houses are darker in hue, so this helps to make it slightly different. The structure is also elevated with a concrete block underneath. This way the artist has a better view of the mountains and surrounding area, which is quite a breathtaking sight of a more rural part of Italy.
