Aeralis, an aerospace company based in Bristol in the United Kingdom, has unveiled a futuristic modular aircraft concept that allows for interchangeable parts to be utilized in order to offer a spectacular array of opportunities and applications.
The core element of this modular aircraft concept is dubbed the 'Common Core Fuselage' which is designed to accommodate a number of elements whether they pertain to cockpit setups for human piloting or unmanned application, fuel maintenance or electronic jamming technologies. The aircraft has also been designed with upgrade fuselage and wing designs that enable the use of easily commercially available landing gear which helps to increase efficiency and decrease maintenance costs. Elsewhere, the craft can also be used in conjunction with combat radar that is useful both in real-world and training scenarios. What's more, even the engines can be swapped out using easily adaptable installation techniques.
Tristan Crawford, founder and CEO over at Aeralis, stated that this modular aircraft concept is poised to revolutionize the light military jet segment. "The modular design provides the Aeralis jet with maximum flexibility whilst including a first-of-a-kind design to enhance aircraft performance," said Crawford.
