In collaboration with THINKK studio, Thai studio Kaoi releases a playful and colorful modular chair design. Both firms are based in Bangkok and worked on a collection of "deckchair-style seats that can be brought to life with four variations of armrests."
For the silhouettes, THINKK and Kaoi drew reference from the "geometric lines that defined the 1980s Memphis movement" which was pioneered by the celebrated Italian architect and designer Ettore Sottsass.
The aesthetics of the modular chair designs can be mixed and matched to satisfy personal stylistic preferences and all of the expressions exude a whimsical character that will certainly accent any room in a cheery manner. The armrests are of particular focus here as they boast shapes of "squiggles, zigzags, and arcs."
