Giving those on the inside the magical feeling of being surrounded by not only nature but a sea of clouds as well, this modern countryside house is the perfect refuge for those who want to get away from city life and its constant hustle and bustle.
Designed by Luigi Rosselli Architects, this contemporary haven is located in Armidale, Australia and shows us that you can mix rural living with sophisticated indigenous artifact collections and look sleek all at the same time.
Boasting impressive artifact and art collections from Africa and Asia, this modern countryside house is nothing like a cliche. Yes, it has the beautiful pristine meadows and dewy fog sunrises, but it also has a crisp, urban look.
“The 1000 meter of altitude are felt outside with cold winter fog covering the valley, whilst inside the house is a refuge enhanced by strongly integrated passive solar design principles. The concrete and the tanks provide ample thermal mass to balance the temperature extremes that high country encounters,” says the design team from Luigi Rosselli Architects.
