Trend Hunter dives into the Millenial Micro-Generations and Millenial Desires in this iteration of the platform's Innovation eLearning series on YouTube. This module covers the three Millenial Micro-Generations, which are the Pro Millenial, Mid Millenial, and Nouveau Millenial, respectively. These generations are born between the years of 1982 and 1998, but are split into three sub-categories as there are distinct differences between each group.
The Pro Millenial, the oldest of the trio and the group born between 1982 to 1987, were born to career-focused Neo Boomer parents. This generation is the first to use social media at an older age, while also gaining access to limitless information via home computing in their adolescent years. This demographic is currently experiencing the highest percentage of new parenthood while striving for career stability and progression.
The Mid Millenial, born between 1988 and 1993, grew up during a time of involved parenting and a culture of comparison. Social Media was an integral part of the Mid Millenial's childhood, creating enhanced community involvement, a massive expansion in access to culture, and a high degree of fear stemming from events such as 9/11 and the London bombings. As a result of this massive exposure, the Mid Millenial desires to positively impact society, with the majority stating that this is more important to them than having children and building a family.
