Alexander McQueen’s Fall Collection debuted at Milan Men’s Fashion Week 2012.
Stongly influenced by Victorian Britain, the collection features pinstripes and exaggerated checked pants incorporated into the classic power suit. Taking inspiration from haute horse riders, one suit features brocaded roses along the label and forearm. Other characteristics borrowed from horse riders include cropped pant legs paired with long socks. Despite major Victorian inspiration, the curation is very modern.
Tailoring is tight, and the series also includes a sheer bomber jacket and printed trousers to ensure modernity is maintained. Other more avant-garde, modern pieces include a plaid suit cut into a light velvet as well as a faux-fuzz jacket paired with cropped white pants. A mix of textures is used, amplifying the artistry of the series.
The collection is dapper and crisply tailored, yet carries a certain spunk characteristic of Alexander McQueen.
