The Barcelona-based design studio 'Nook Architects' recently updated a family residence by adding a series of mesh partitions. Open-plan homes have become highly desirable in recent years and as a result, many architects have looked for creative ways to divide different spaces. These chic mesh dividers help separate the home without closing off different sections.
The 'Juno's House' project began as an effort to give an older Barcelona home a modern upgrade. However, the home's poor construction meant that it could no longer function as a conventional two-level home. In order to make the space work for the residents, the architects created an open interior with staggered levels throughout. These levels are separated by staircases and mesh partitions that allow light to flood the space.
This home demonstrates how mesh can be used to create separate spaces, while still maintaining an open-concept design.
