Ophelia is one of my favorite characters in all of Shakespeare, so I couldn't resist writing about Megan Snider's photo shoot that captures this tragic female character.
Megan Snider's 'Ophelia' recalls the famous painting done by Sir John Millais, which I've appended to the end of the gallery. What a gorgeous tribute to both that iconic piece and to Shakespeare!
Implications - Looking back at what passed artists have done is a great way to learn about what works and what doesn't. Taking the themes of a piece and reinterpreting it through a new medium can have spectacular results. These Megan Snider images are a perfect example of an idea being recreated in multiple forms moving from a play, to a painting to a photograph.
