At first glance, it may appear that one is viewing a serene capture of a snowy scene in these photographic prints by artist Maria Netsounski. But upon closer inspection one notices that these landscapes are made up of tropical foliage and surroundings. Could it be that the photographer was able to snap some shots of some global warming disaster on the other side of the world you didn't hear about, or is it possible that these photos have been digitally manipulated?
Actually, the Netherlands-based photographer took these vibrant images using infrared technology; hence the name of this series, IR. By using this special technique for documenting her environment, Maria Netsounski was able to transform it into a surreal world of bold blues and high-contrast whites, creating what looks like a fantastical winter wonderland.
