Madonna has decided she needs a getaway in New York City, so she latched onto a huge, 26-room mansion on the Upper East Side. Reportedly, Madonna paid $40 million to enjoy one of the widest houses in the neighborhood. It has a 3,000 sq. ft. garden with tall trees, 9 fireplaces, 13 bedrooms, an elevator and a rooftop garden highlighting the NYC palace's 12,000 sq. ft.
But, hold your breath, the most striking feature is: a garage. No longer will Madge and A-Rod have to dodge the paparazzi to come and go. In interviews with The Observer, "three top brokers, including one at Sotheby’s International Realty, the firm that had the listing, described the mansion as horribly located and atrociously overpriced. 'It’s one of the worst blocks in creation,' one said, referring to the un-chic strip of 81st Street between Lexington and Third avenues. 'It might as well be on the moon in terms of a great townhouse location.'"
