The National Football League (NFL) announced that registration is now open for its upcoming collaborative 'EA SPORTS Madden NFL x HBCU Tournament Series.' EA SPORTS is the Electronic Arts games division that operates each of the high-profile sports video games, such as the annual NFL, FIFA, and NBA games. The HBCU, which is the Historically Black Colleges and Universities group, will participate in a series of NFL games.
The NFL stated that this is not only an opportunity for interested students to partake in a gaming event, but also an opportunity for these students to learn about the intricacies of sports business while job shadowing NFL workers during Super Bowl LVII week, which several participants will gain access to.
Additionally, the VP of Video Gaming at the NFL, Ed Kiang, stated: “We look forward to inviting back players to the Madden NFL x HBCU tournament, which has become an incredible platform for students to compete in their favorite video game while learning the business of sports at the NFL’s largest event,” continuing on to state that this year's events will be accompanied by a women's-only league, stating: “We are proud to expand participation through the first-ever women’s bracket and are thrilled to see so many new and returning partners joining this exciting program.”
Details surrounding the registration process, rewards, and locations can be found at the dedicated website for the event.
