Luke Lamp Co. Creates Light Fixtures That are Full of Character
Meghan Young — January 7, 2012 — Art & Design
The rustic lighting of Luke Lamp Co. is full of character. Made out of repurposed everyday materials such as manila rope, mason jars and books, these lamps would introduce an industrial aesthetic into homes, offices and other spaces that could benefit from some much-needed personality. Although they might seem most appropriate for older styles, Luke Lamp Co.'s light fixtures would complement modern and minimalist stark white interiors.
Based in Mamaroneck, New York, Luke Lamp Co. is a one-man operation founded by Luke Kelly. As he hilariously puts it, "I am the owner, lamp builder, label maker, supplies buyer, customer service representative, call center operator, lamp repairer, light finder, and delivery man of Luke Lamp Co.." The crowning feature of Kelly's creations has to be the use of warm and unique Edison bulbs.
