In partnership with Google, Pedigree developed Pedigree Found, aiming to reduce the number of lost dogs in the neighborhood. While most app stores are flooded with apps for locating missing pets, what makes this one different is the connection to Google's digital ad network, which supercharges the visibility for a local lost pet.
The app allows a pet owner to create a profile for their dog, and in the case that this pet goes missing, the app user is able to press an alert button to trigger Google Ad Network banners to be sent out to people in the area. Currently, Pedigree Found is now running as part of a trial in Auckland, New Zealand.
Although people are often on the lookout for lost dog posters, these digital ads are bound to be more effective at catching the eyes of anyone with a smartphone in hand.
