London-based streetwear imprint, maharishi recently unveils its Loom capsule comprised of two pieces. The small range sees a woven jacket and a poncho, designed to be suitable for the warmer seasons. Both of the items are constructed from striped cotton materials using a powerloom, hence the name of the series. The label draws a strong inspiration from sukajan-style jackets made by the traditional Vietnamese Hill Tribes using hand-loom cloths.
The woven jacket and poncho also have embroidery that references 60s tour artwork and the designs are intricately done by hand -- this accent is incorporated to recall the American soldiers who returned home with the sukajan jackets.
