Trendy apparel company KidSuper and entertainment brand Superplastic teamed up to release a range of limited-edition vinyl figures of Superplastic’s signature Chop Chop character. Superplastic, founded by Paul Budnitz has become one of the biggest brands that made digitally-native characters including Chop Chop with storylines and personalities who dwell in the art, music, culture, and fashion industry. Founder of KidSuper Colm Dilane spoke about the collaboration, saying: “With this in mind, every KidSuperplastic figure was intentionally designed to include a fully usable paintbrush that is symbolic of this and the idea that anyone can create their own world.”
There are two variations of the figures in Kidsuper’s bold colorways. With only 1,666 units available, the '8-INCH KIDSUPERPLASTIC' is a mix of magenta and a soft blue cape with a gold electroplated belt buckle. As for the '8-INCH KIDSUPERPLASTIC DESERT,' it has only 500 figures made and is finished with a scenic desert view cape with imagery of cactuses on it and a silver belt buckle. Both figures consist of a usable paintbrush and a digital comic regarding the “misadventures” of KIDSUPERPLASTIC. The vinyl figures are currently available for purchase.
