I'm normally not a fan of artsy lamps, but I've found myself drawn to the Light Mincer Lamp. This lamp was created by Reima Honkasalo to remind us all of the wasted cords we have plugged in around the house.
A cord that is plugged into an outlet is still draining power from the grid even when it isn't in use, giving rise to the term "electricity vampire." The Light Mincer Lamp shows just how many appliances go into making one light bulb turn on.
