Geert Mul is behind a new permanent light art installation in the Netherlands. Mul has lined a tunnel with his paintings, which are then illuminated by colorful LED lights. The tunnel is located on the former estate of 17th century Christiaan Huygens, and several of Mul’s paintings are in tribute to him. For instance, Huygen’s made advances in studies of the planet Saturn; and lo and behold, Mul has a Saturn painting.
The paints look great by day, but really come to life at night, when the colorful lights are powered on. Walking through the brightly lit tunnel is electrifying. It is almost impossible to tear your eyes away from this transfixing light art installation. If you enjoy art in urban settings, such as this historical tunnel, definitely check out this colorful light art installation.
