Spotify and Warner recently entered into a new worldwide licensing deal for music. The two companies released a joint statement on the licensing deal, "This expanded deal covers countries where Spotify is available today, as well as additional markets." This means that the agreement will also cover markets that Spotify will hope to expand to in the future. The deal will not impact the user experience on the Spotify platform, as they will still be able to stream content from artists associated with Warner Music.
It was also reported that the two companies were negotiating over podcasts and that the respective organizations met in the middle.
The companies have collaborated previously when Spotify and Warner Chappell entered into a licensing agreement as Spotify was expanding into India.
