Lee Broom's 'Divine Inspiration' Collection Will Debut in Milan
Kanesa D — May 30, 2022 — Art & Design
Lee Broom’s latest work comes in the form of a 30-piece lighting collection, arriving in multiple “configurations, finishes, and materials.” The collection draws inspiration from the Brutalist architecture movement as well as The Pantheon in Rome, a former temple for its people. Stand-out pieces include the ‘Vesper,’ a light fixture made from extruded aluminum and rectangular frames encasing illuminated spheres. The fixture is suspended by slim cables, arriving in two sizes: ‘Duo’ and ‘Quattro.’
Limited-edition hand-sculpted works from Broom round out the collection, all designed in his London factory. The process includes dipping hand-draped fabrics into plaster and allowing it to set around rings and spheres, mimicking a weightless effect.
The ‘Divine Inspiration’ collection will be showcased in the Brera district of Milan, at the ‘Salone del Mobile’ furniture fair.
