If you are someone who likes to sleep with the light on, then you are going to love the LEDoor Handle. The LEDoor Handle is a multifunctional door handle designed to be both a night light and emergency flashlight.
The LEDoor Handle was designed by Kun-hee Kim, Kei Shimizu and Nguyen-vu Dang for the 2011 Spark Awards. The handle is simple to use and charges itself. When the door is opened the minute amount of kinetic energy that goes from the lock to the handle is captured and used to charge the LEDoor Handle's battery, with the light automatically turning itself off in daytime to conserve battery. When it is night the handle emits a soft glow to help lull you to sleep or to help guide you to the door in the event of an emergency. Should an emergency occur you can detach the handle and use it to light your way to safety.
