These leather bombers provide more than just a stylish layer but carry a political message and are a cultural tribute to the Black Panther Party. The B.P.P.F.S.D. was a militarized organization in the United States that protected black people and instituted social programs.
Designed by Kinship and worn by rapper Jim Jones, the leather bombers come in bold red or black, either as all leather garment or with a wool body and leather sleeves. The varsity-style jacket has a silk liner covered in images of notable people from the movement. There are also nine black and white patches that symbolize the Black Panthers and sport the year 1966 -- when they were founded.
With a picture of a clawing panther and the slogan, "Panther Power" under the patch -- the jacket is certainly a statement piece.
