Louis Vuitton has been operating in Texas for two years, where it entered the region to open training centers for its workers.
The Texas factory will source leather in Europe, however, the brand may change to American leather in the future. The company may also rely more on the Texas factory in the future to produce leather items.
The new factory marks a new direction for the brand, where it would previously craft its bags using “petites mains” to handcraft the items in France. The new direction is the result of increased consumer demand, additionally having a United States factory will help the brand better serve that market.
