At Milano Design Week 2025, Lavazza Group previewed Lavazza Tablì, the first 100% coffee tab system without a capsule and "the future of single-serve coffee." This new Lavazza system pairs the all-coffee tab with a specially designed machine that introduces a forward-thinking, waste-reducing coffee consumption experience.

The first 100% coffee tab by Lavazza followed the 2020 acquisition of Italian startup Caffemotive and its tab concept, as well as over 50 new patents filed.

Coffee capsules are notoriously wasteful due to their single-use nature, and depending on the materials used, they can be challenging to recycle.
