Those familiar with the work of Laurence Demaison already know she’s the queen of hauntingly beautiful imagery, so it should come as no surprise that even when taking self-portraits, Demaison was going to make them creepy and visually stunning. Seen here are various photos featuring the artist seemingly submerged in water. The calmness of her face as she potentially drowns herself is quite shocking to think about, though people’s eyes are likely too enamoured by the pictures to give such things a second thought.
Laurence Demaison achieved various water effects with this series, from ripples to airborne splashes. How she’s able to achieve these looks using just a camera, I’ll never know.
For more eerie and engrossing images, be sure to check out Demaison’s website. Be warned however, those with a weak tolerance for scary visuals probably should stay away from Demaison's creations.
