LatentGesture is a new system that keeps phones out of unwanted hands by identify people's swiping gestures. The system familiarizes itself with owner's handling of the phone, and when it senses it's in the wrong hands, it shuts down.
While this could be frustrating if the technology constantly locked out owners by mistake, according to PSFK it has a 97% effectiveness rate. While this is a handy piece of technology to keep phones blocked off from strangers, it could also be helpful for parents with children. Instead of worrying about them snatching the phone and downloading unwanted material, the LatentGesture system would just not allow this to happen in the first place.
