The Lacoste x National Geographic collection is an exclusive collaboration between the French sportswear brand and the educational publication. Adorning Lacoste's classic silhouettes with prints inspired by the animal kingdom, the collection consists of statement polos, t-shirts, sweatshirts and hats that highlight graphic patterns and patterned versions of the brand's iconic crocodile insignia.
The unisex range spotlights four key prints that are inspired by "the Grévy’s Zebra, the Green and Black Poison Dart Frog, Halloween Pennant Dragonfly and the Jaguar," thanks to the species' distinct beauty.
Highlighting the importance of conservation -- heighted as the world experiences rapid climate change -- the Lacoste x National Geographic collection is "inspired by the ambitious National Geographic Photo Ark Project, award-winning photographer Joel Sartore’s long-term effort is to document every species living in the world’s zoos, aquarium and wildlife sanctuaries." Sartore's existing archive consists of 10,500 images taken to date, with an end goal of all 15,000 species photographed.
