The Kroger Simple Truth Plant Based line was launched last year by the retailer, but has now been expanded to feature more than 50 new products that are all competitively priced. The new products in the lineup includes nondairy cheeses, oat milk ice cream and even fresh chicken-free patties and grinds that are perfect for incorporation in a wide range of recipes. The line will be further expanded by the brand to include more than 75 products by the end of the year to accommodate the increased rise in flexitarian diets.
Chief Merchant Stuart Aitken spoke on the expansion of the Kroger Simple Truth Plant Based line saying, "We’re excited to introduce the latest additions to our Simple Truth Plant Based collection to provide an expanded selection of affordable, delicious and quality products for our customers who live a vegan, vegetarian or flexitarian lifestyle. We look forward to continuing to drive the growth of the plant-based category through our Simple Truth brand, which exceeded $2.5 billion in sales last year, and we anticipate increased interest in our plant-based selection in 2021 and beyond.”
