Fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld has been running the Chanel household for decades now. In the past, most people couldn’t afford to splurge on the expensive Chanel accessories. All that is about to change though, thanks to the new license agreement between Lagerfeld and the Accessory Network Group. The Group will manufacture and distribute Karl Lagerfeld handbags, small leather goods, and luggage. Like Calvin Klein, Ghurka and Isaac Isaac Mizrahi before him, Karl will offer luxury accessories at a (somewhat) more affordable price. Karl will enter the design discount market with the release of the collection set for Fall 2008. There will be a designer-level collection retailing from $1000 in addition to a contemporary line ranging from $350 to $850. Both lines will incorporate small leather goods and luggage.
