Kaoru Tanaka Wraps the INFINITI QX80 in Digital Artwork

The INFINITI flagship QX80 car is previewed with a uniquely wrapped finish done by the talents of Kaoru Tanaka. Tanaka is a generative digital artist based in Osaka, Japan. She imagines a captivating digital pattern that nods to the synaptic links of the brain. Visually, it boasts a monochromatic greyscale pattern that represents the “pulsing and living DNA sequence." This hides the specific looks of the full-size exterior detail of the luxurious car.
Tanaka uses TouchDesigner to develop her work -- this is a node-based visual programming language. The overarching goal of this project is to bring attention to the automobile company's new design language dubbed 'Artistry in Motion.' This also continues to the car's segmented LED headlamp, the digital piano key lighting, and the double-arched grille.
