Textile studio Sunday Monday launches a look at the new Kanso collection, which is comprised of a series of pillows. It honors both of the founders' design values and heritage. The Kanso capsule celebrates the Japanese heritage of Kramer and Mirani's Indian heritage simultaneously. It is named after one of the 7 Japanese Zen philosophy principals.
Kanso means the elimination of clutter which is necessary to promote overall wellbeing. The entire range is designed in New York City and the block-printed detailing on the pillows themselves is done by hand in Rajasthan, India, which is a direct nod to Mirani's background. The designs are carved into local teakwood and then the linen, which is entirely European gets washed, dyed, and then prepped for the block prints.
