This impressive Joshua Tree residence is made out of a cluster of shipping containers. The futuristic home looks like something from outer space landed in the middle of the California desert.
Photographed by Whitaker Studio, the container house consists of several containers, each wrapped in a glazed panel. Designed to optimize privacy, invite in natural light and capture stunning views, the architecture also features a contrasting white exterior to make the shelter stand out amongst its dusty desert backdrop (and also conveniently reflect harsh sun rays). The Joshua Tree residence has an open living area in the center of the home as well as an open courtyard outdoors and wooden deck, possible due to angled volumes.
