Everybody has problems but unfortunately many issues are granted too much undue attention. The Jon Harvey Meds series was inspired by the artist's career as a psychotherapist, throughout which he grew frustrated with the overuse of prescription drugs as remedies to a broad range of ailments.
Having recently decided to put more of his energy into his passion for art, Jon has been producing dioramas that encapsulate personal social commentaries with respect to the illnesses of Western culture. Based on the popular notion that there is a pill to cure just about anything, these sardonic sculptures portray Celebrity Meds, Gridlock Meds, Mall Meds, Police Academy Meds, Retirement Meds and US Senator Meds. The Jon Harvey Meds series will make you think twice about the ridiculous custom of overdosing on pointless problems.
