John Crabbie & Co. Release Edinburgh'sfirst Single Malt in 100 Years

Scotch whisky brand John Crabbie & Co has released Chain Pier Single Malt, the first single malt whiskey to be produced in Edinburgh in close to 100 years. In addition, it's the first single malt to be produced by the company's specialty Chain Pier Distillery, making it a first in more ways than one.
According to the company, the new expression was aged in charred virgin American oak barrels. As a result, the whiskey delivers a sophisticated flavor profile consisting of notes of berries, green apples, and forest fruits on the nose, with a sweet malt and caramel finish on the palate.
“The launch of the Chain Pier Single Malt is an incredibly exciting step in the John Crabbie & Co journey, as the malt whisky that we have crafted from start to finish at a site of our own," said James Stocker, marketing director at Halewood Artisanal Spirits, referencing the whiskey's symbolic importance.
