As part of No Soul for Sale, an art exhibition currently happening in New York City, Jeffrey Inaba created ‘Pool Noodle Roof.’
‘Pool Noodle Roof’ is made of 150 chairs made of pool noodles. Jeffrey Inaba's idea behind the design was to make people both comfortable and uncomfortable at the same time, with the design feeling comfortable but shifting awkwardly.
Jeffrey Inaba also wanted to draw attention to unstable art markets in the world, so he made the word ‘bububluooopppp’ out of pool noodles on the chairs. Apparently that’s the sound of something sinking or rising, and the art market may do either. Check out the 150 pool noodle chairs (which took 5 hours each to create) above.
