French artist Jean-Pierre Blanchard amazed his audience by creating a painted portrait of Roger Federer at the SVC Entrepreneur Awards in Zurich. The painting took less than 4 minutes to complete and was auctioned off for charity. The remarkable thing about Blanchard's work is the intricate detail included.
The painting was auctioned off to Ernst & Young Zurich. Thomas Sauber, the head manager of the company, said that he "was delighted by the artist's performance and the quality of the painting." The artist chose to use Roger Federer as a model for his painting not only because he is a self-professed fan, but also because he feels that "Federer has a distinctive face that fits with his competitive nature ad strong character. He is relatively easy to paint."
