Trader Joe’s is expanding its freezer selection to include its pre-cooked and ready to heat Japanese Style Fried Rice.
The new Japanese Style Fried Rice is the brand's take on takikomi gohan, which is a traditional Japanese style of rice flavored with soy sauce and a Japanese rice wine called mirin. Trader Joe's own version of this dish includes fried rice tossed with deep fried tofu pieces, shelled edamame, and thin strips of hijiki seaweed. Best of all, the dish is fully cooked and then frozen, so all you need to do is heat it up in a microwave, skillet, or wok for a few minutes. And if you want to bulk it up, you can easily do so with a quick fried egg or some pickled veggies.
