The driving forces of inspiration for the collaboration between San Francisco-based creative studio Even/Odd and the Kiarostami Foundation were Nowruz (Iranian New Year) celebrations and Iranian Cinema. A special range of products was debuted as part of this endeavor and all reference the late Abbas Kiarostami's seminal contributions to world cinema. The filmmaker is known for films such as Where is the Friend’s House? and the Taste of Cherry.
Even/Odd founder Mohammad Gorjestani and creative director Omid Fatemi translated some of Kiarostami's gifts of Iranian cinema into a graphic novel, jam, poster prints, and activity books. In doing so, they extend the legacy of the filmmaker into new mediums and offer keepsakes for fans of Kiarostami's allegories.
