The forms of nature inspire some of the most aesthetically alluring artistic creations. The Inside of Amoeba coffee table may not be modeled on the exquisite physical features of a flower or a tree, but its form embodies the divine purity of a single-cell organism.
The base of the piece is shaped with great organic fluidity, forming stiff slumps and sags in the plastic material. An opaque white finish coats one version of Alexander Petunin's project, stirring the image of a plasmic pool when viewed from above.
A vibrant red or a neon green of the inside is visible through a glossy transparent tabletop with consistent wavy edges. An alternative to this design of the Inside of Amoeba coffee table presents the piece with a see-through bottom as well.
