The 'Indiedroid Nova' is a new single-board computer (SBC) that claims to be three times faster than its closest competitor, the 'Raspberry Pi 4.' It is based on the Rockchip RK3588S SoC, which features an octa-core CPU, a Mali-G610 GPU, and a 6 TOPS NPU for AI applications. The Indiedroid Nova supports up to 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB of eMMC flash storage. It also has a full-body heatsink and a fan to keep it cool under heavy load.
The Indiedroid Nova has the same form factor as the Raspberry Pi 4, but offers more connectivity options, such as micro HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort via USB Type-C, Gigabit Ethernet, dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0, four USB ports, a 40-pin GPIO header, a MIPI DSI connector, a MIPI CSI connector, and a 3.5mm audio jack. It also has power, recovery, reset, and boot buttons, as well as power and user LEDs.
The Indiedroid Nova is designed to be a powerful and versatile SBC for various projects, such as gaming, media center, robotics, IoT, and more. It is distributed by ameriDroid.com, which also plans to create an active and welcoming community around the Indiedroid brand. The Indiedroid Nova is expected to be available in mid-April 2023 for $144.95 USD.
