Dashlane, a password management app, has officially launched a new service on its mobile app that functions as an email Inbox Security Scan. This new feature builds on Dashlane's existing infrastructure focused on Internet safety and essentially functions as a scanning tool to assess online security hygiene.
Using the Inbox Security Scan is as simple as linking an email to Dashlane, allowing the company read-only access to emails. From there, the Internet Security Scan service will peruse the entirety of an email inbox and will then show the user which accounts linked to that email have historically been prone to hacking.
This security hygiene procedure is also tied to Dashlane's password management system and will invite users to save accounts to its app, which will also provide a "hacker-proof password."
