Justin Lam — February 2, 2018 — Lifestyle
'In Your Mace' is the newest craft brew from Dogfish Head brewery and it boasts a powerful heat with its inclusion of powerful heat. Created in a partnership with Mace Security International, this coffee milk stout carries a moderate sweetness and gives off a note of spicy nutmeg, anise and espresso. The palette ends with a chili spiced finish that is meant to warm the mouth. It should be noted that the brew does not actually contain any pepper spray, but it is meant to entice fans of spice. With Dogfish Head's track record of delicious beers this product is sure to impress some and definitely scare off others.
The idea for In Your Mace came from a discussion between Dogfish owner Sam Calagione and Mace Security vice president Eric Crawford. The two met in high school and shared a passion for collaboration. While reminiscing over their younger days, the duo decided to create the spice laden beer with a combination of nutmeg spice and the natural oils used in Mace Brand Pepper spray. The levels of spice used in the brewing was so intense that all brewers were forced to wear full body suits, face masks and respirators.
