At first the ICEHOTEL It's Alive room may seem like the igloo most guests sleep in, yet there are obvious differences that aren't immediately discernible. This could be because these details are all carved out of ice, which blends right into the snowy walls. Inspired by the lair of a mad scientist, perhaps even Frankenstein himself, the ICEHOTEL It's Alive room boasts mysterious gadgets, huge tesla coils, a hatch in the ceiling and, of course, the bed where the monster comes to life.
Designed by Christian Strömqvist and Karl-Johan Ekeroth and PINPIN Studio, the the ICEHOTEL It's Alive room makes the experience of lodging in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden, even more entertaining. The designers write, "PINPIN Studio uses playfulness and creativity to transform the water from Torne River into an interactive and unique design and art experience."
