The 'I went to MoMA and' Project Encourages Visitors to Express Emotions

The 'I went to MoMA and' project was created by the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. The museum wanted to find an interactive way to record the experiences and emotions of the museum's many visitors. MoMA sees nearly three million guests yearly, and this project allows goers to create a fun and creative guestbook. Each visitor had the chance to be a part of history by decorating these pre-printed notecards that were displayed out in the open for everyone to enjoy.

The museum saw such success with these visitor cards that they created a blog and posted all card they received. The blog also contained separate categories of the different types of visitor cards submitted. Some of those categories included deep thoughts, ruminations on the meaning of life and love, while others included reflections of art they saw during their visit. The interesting part about the 'I went to MoMa and' project is the wide variety of visitor card art and poetry that was collected from MoMA's many visitors.
