Aston Martin is about to make history with the Hybrid Hydrogen Rapide S. The eco-friendly version of the British automaker's sports sedan will compete in the upcoming 24 Hours Nürburgring. The Hybrid Hydrogen Rapide S will be the first hydrogen-powered car ever to compete in an international automotive competition.
The Hybrid Hydrogen Rapide S has can run off of pure hydrogen, pure gasoline or a combination of the two fuels. Although it's powered by hydrogen, this green Rapide S is no slouch. It features a twin-turbo 12 liter V6 engine. That should give it enough oomph to compete with the other 150 cars that are planning to take part in the race. Should it be a success, the Hybrid Hydrogen Rapide S could encourage other automakers to take their eco cars to the track in races around the world.
